Calvin Bassey Stresses Fulham’s Modesty Amid European Aspirations

Fulham defender Calvin Bassey has urged his teammates to stay humble despite their strong run of form in the Premier League.

The Whites clinched a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage on Saturday, with Bassey himself scoring the decisive goal. The win propelled Fulham to eighth place, just five points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, sparking conversations about a potential European qualification.

However, when asked about the club’s aspirations for European football, Bassey played down expectations.

“Everyone always asks me about this European thing,” he told Premier League Productions. “For us, it’s just taking each game as it comes. Of course, our goal is to get there, but I think it’s just taking each game as it comes.”

Can Fulham Keep Dreaming?

While Bassey remains cautious, Fulham's recent performances suggest they could be dark horses in the race for European spots. With momentum on their side and key players stepping up, Marco Silva’s men cannot be ruled out of a top-six push.

That said, consistency is key. Fulham will need to maintain this form against tougher opposition and prove they can handle the pressure of competing for European places.
