Football fans in Lagos witnessed an electrifying contest on Wednesday night as Ikorodu City pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat Plateau United 2-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle was among the spectators as the home side overcame a first-half setback to secure victory.

Late Heroics Seal Comeback for Ikorodu City

Plateau United silenced the home crowd when Albert Hilary slotted in the opening goal seven minutes before halftime. However, Ikorodu City refused to back down and came out stronger in the second half.

Their persistence paid off in the 74th minute when Ayomide Olatunji fired in the equalizer. The stadium erupted ten minutes later as Tosin Oyedokun scored the winning goal, completing a dramatic turnaround for the Oga Boys.

Meanwhile, in Ibadan, Shooting Stars and Lobi Stars battled to an entertaining 2-2 draw in a match full of twists and turns.

  • The visitors took the lead for the first time in first-half stoppage time.

  • Shooting Stars, however, responded in the 52nd minute, with Sadiq Ibrahim restoring parity.
