Wizkid and Davido Shine at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards
Nigerian music superstars Wizkid and Davido emerged victorious at the 56th NAACP Image Awards, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
The NAACP Image Awards is an annual event that celebrates outstanding performances in film, television, theatre, music, and literature.
Wizkid and Davido’s Wins
Wizkid won the award for ‘Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary)’ for his song “Piece of My Heart” featuring Brent Faiyaz.
Davido took home the award for ‘Outstanding International Song’ for his collaboration with Chris Brown on “Hmmm”, beating Wizkid in the same category.
However, Nigerian artists Tems and Burna Boy lost in their categories.
Other Major Winners
Beyoncé won Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Album for “Cowboy Carter”.
Chris Brown won Outstanding Male Artist.
Megan Thee Stallion and Kendrick Lamar secured the Outstanding Hip Hop/Rap Song category.
Tamela Mann won Outstanding Gospel/Christian Song.
"Gracie’s Corner" won Outstanding Children’s Program.
"Saturday Night Live" won Outstanding Variety Show (Series or Special).
Taraji P. Henson won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Television Series.
