Ruggedman Opens Up on Staying Single at 51: A Right or Wrong Decision?

Ruggedman Opens Up on Staying Single at 51: A Right or Wrong Decision?

Veteran Nigerian rapper and activist, Michael Stephens, popularly known as Ruggedman, has revealed why he is still unmarried at 51 years old and does not have children.

Speaking on TVC’s "Your View", Ruggedman shared that he made a personal vow in his younger years never to have a child out of wedlock.

“I am not married and do not have a child yet. When I was much younger, I vowed never to have a child out of wedlock. Sometimes, I wonder whether I made the right or wrong decision. But still, it takes a lot from both parties. You have to do it with someone you really love,” he said.

Missed Love and Heartbreak

Ruggedman also revealed that he had been in relationships he thought would lead to marriage, but things didn’t work out.

“There was a particular lady I was supposed to marry, but a wealthy man came into the picture, and her mother separated us,” he shared.

Marriage on His Own Terms

Despite his age and status, Ruggedman disclosed in a 2021 interview that his family never pressured him to marry, stating that he would settle down when he was fully ready.

Opinion: Is His Decision Justified?

Ruggedman’s stance on fatherhood and marriage raises an interesting debate. In today’s world, where societal pressure often influences relationships, was his vow a wise decision or a missed opportunity?
