Popular Nigerian singer Naira Marley has broken his silence after a Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos, acquitted him, music promoter Sam Larry, and singer Prime Boy of complicity in the death of late singer Mohbad.

The verdict, delivered on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, comes 18 months after Mohbad's passing, a death that sparked outrage, protests, and online debates over the role Marley and his associates allegedly played.

Following viral videos of Mohbad being bullied, public outcry mounted, leading to the arrest of Naira Marley and Sam Larry in October 2023 on suspicion of their involvement in the tragedy.

Shortly after the ruling, Naira Marley took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his relief and gratitude, sharing a verse from the Holy Quran:

"And whoever puts all his trust in Allah, He will be enough for him. (65:3)."
