Injury Scare for Saka After Brutal Tackle – Arteta Gives Positive Update
Arsenal's 4-0 demolition of Ipswich Town at Portman Road should have been nothing but celebration — until hearts sank when Bukayo Saka was spotted with ice on his foot after a nasty tackle that earned Leif Davis a straight red card.
Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed post-match that the England star was "in pain", but thankfully, there’s no sign of a serious injury.
"I didn’t see the tackle, it was quite fast. It’s a good decision from the referee. He’s in a bit of pain but thankfully it doesn’t look anything too serious," Arteta told reporters.
⚠️ Flashbacks & Fears
Gunners fans were understandably nervous — after all, Saka already missed three months this season with a hamstring issue. His recent comeback has been electric, especially with his standout performance helping Arsenal dump Real Madrid out of the Champions League.
So seeing him limping off, foot wrapped in ice, was not the kind of “ice cold” moment Arsenal fans wanted.
🔜 What’s Next?
Saka's availability for the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace remains uncertain. And with a massive Champions League semi-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain on April 29, every minute counts.
💭 OPINION: Protecting Stars in a Growingly Aggressive League
While football remains a contact sport, the frequency of reckless tackles on high-performing players like Saka raises real concerns. Are referees doing enough to protect flair players? Or is the English game’s aggressive nature putting its brightest stars at long-term risk?
Saka is a national treasure, a Hale End hero, and a crucial piece in Arsenal’s title and European dreams. The Premier League needs him fit — and so do the fans who love to see the boy from Ealing dazzle defenders and light up the pitch.
Let’s hope it’s truly nothing serious. All fingers crossed. 🤞
Get well soon, Starboy. ✨
