Chisom Steve Fires Back at Hurtful Comment Over Pregnancy Loss: “You Will Carry This Curse”

Chisom Steve Fires Back at Hurtful Comment Over Pregnancy Loss: “You Will Carry This Curse”

Nollywood actress Chisom Steve has issued a fiery and emotional response to a social media user who cruelly questioned her about not being pregnant barely two months after her wedding.

Recall that Chisom tied the knot with her military heartthrob, Ogbonnaya Ikenna Daniel, in a star-studded ceremony in May 2024. Since then, fans have closely followed the couple’s journey — but one follower crossed a painful line.

❌ The Message That Sparked It:

In a now-viral screenshot, a Facebook user sent a direct message to Chisom, asking:

“Why are you not yet pregnant… abi are you barren??”

This insensitive question struck a nerve with the actress, who painfully revealed she had recently suffered a miscarriage.

💔 Chisom’s Emotional Response:

“I actually had a miscarriage and I’ve been battling with the pain of losing a child,” she wrote.

In an emotional outburst filled with heartbreak, Chisom placed a spiritual curse on the sender, stating that mocking someone’s unseen struggle would not go unpunished.

OPINION: When Curiosity Turns Cruel — Why 'Womb Watching' Must Stop

Chisom’s response, though heavy, reflects a deep pain that many women face in silence. In a society obsessed with marriage and childbearing, it’s heartbreaking that people feel entitled to comment on a woman’s womb like it’s public property.

Whether it’s celebrities or everyday people, the pressure to conceive immediately after marriage — especially in African cultures — can be emotionally damaging. In Chisom’s case, the pain was made worse by the fact that she was still grieving a loss.

This should be a wake-up call to social media users: your curiosity is not more important than someone’s peace. Women don’t owe the world explanations about their bodies, fertility, or private grief.

🛑 A Call for Empathy

Instead of asking women why they’re not pregnant, ask yourself if your words will bring healing or harm. For every “When are you due?” there could be a hidden miscarriage, a fertility battle, or a personal choice you know nothing about.

❤️ Let’s Normalize:

  • Not asking personal questions about reproduction

  • Giving couples space and time

  • Offering support, not pressure

  • Respecting grief — even when it's silent
