Actress Etinosa Idemudia Calls Out Frederick Leonard Over Alleged Poor Treatment of Crew Members
Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has taken to social media to express her frustration after her colleague, Frederick Leonard, blocked her on Instagram. The dispute arose after Etinosa made comments criticizing Leonard’s treatment of crew members, a remark she insists was meant as a harmless joke.
Etinosa, known for her outspoken personality, initially called out Leonard over what she described as his poor attitude toward crew members. However, she was shocked to discover that instead of addressing the matter privately, he blocked her on Instagram.
Reacting to this, she posted:
“Dear Frederick Leonard, you blocked me over a simple joke? You could have just told me, ‘Babe, I don’t like it,’ and I would have deleted it. It was never meant to hurt you, but I guess it did—because it’s true!”
She further accused Leonard of trying to create a false image online, claiming that some crew members turn down jobs when they hear he is involved in a production.
“Crew members are human beings! Stop treating them like animals while making clout-chasing videos to look like a good person.”
A Public Apology, But Not Without Shade
Despite her anger, Etinosa later softened her stance, admitting that she sometimes makes jokes that people may not find funny. She apologized, but with a subtle reminder that her statement was based on truth:
“My mother always complains about the way I joke, saying that not everyone finds it funny. I truly apologize to my big brother and former friend, Frederick. But this thing pains me, I won’t lie.”
Opinion: A Case of Harsh Truth or Public Humiliation?
This incident raises an interesting debate: Was Etinosa right to call out Leonard publicly, or should she have addressed him privately first?
On one hand, if Leonard indeed mistreats crew members, as she claims, then someone needed to speak up. The entertainment industry thrives on teamwork, and actors should respect their crew as much as they do their co-stars.
On the other hand, addressing sensitive matters on social media instead of privately might not be the best approach. Could her criticism have been handled differently?
What Do You Think?
Was Etinosa justified in calling out Frederick Leonard publicly?
Should Leonard have blocked her, or should he have responded differently?
