Popular Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has shared a heartfelt story about how her children played a crucial role in helping her overcome depression.
In an interview with Teju Babyface, the veteran actress revealed that she once struggled with depression to the point of relying on antidepressants. However, it was her children who helped her heal and rediscover joy in life.
Her Children: ‘The Pillars of My Life’
Speaking candidly, Wright described her children as the foundation of her strength during that difficult period.
"There was a time I was depressed, and I was taking antidepressants. But my children had to wean me off them. They have always been my number one critics," she said.
She further emphasized how they encouraged her to start living for herself:
"They told me, ‘Hey, Iya, you have been living your life for us, but it is now time to live for yourself. Enjoy yourself and have fun.’”
