Timini Egbuson Calls Out Musicians Over Lack of Support for Nollywood

Timini Egbuson Calls Out Musicians Over Lack of Support for Nollywood

Popular Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson, has sparked a debate about the lack of support musicians show towards the Nigerian movie industry.

Taking to his X handle on Sunday, Timini expressed his frustration, stating that while actors consistently promote Nigerian music, musicians do not reciprocate the same energy for Nollywood.

“Really wish musicians supported Nollywood the way we support their music, but that’s a conversation for another day,” he wrote.

A Longstanding Relationship

The Nigerian music and film industries have always been intertwined, with several musicians featuring in Nollywood movies and actors dabbling into music.

Additionally, many Nollywood actresses have played lead roles as vixens in popular music videos.

A Call for More Collaboration?

Timini’s statement has sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing that musicians should do more to promote Nollywood films, while others argue that both industries have mutually benefited from each other over the years.

Do you think Nigerian musicians should do more to support Nollywood? 🎥🎶
