Usman Abdallah Rejects Early Return After Suspension, Insists on Completing Full Term
Embattled Kano Pillars technical adviser, Usman Abdallah, has turned down the club’s request for an early return to his position, choosing instead to serve out his full three-week suspension.
Abdallah was sanctioned by the club due to the team’s poor form and his conduct towards fans, leading to his temporary removal. In his absence, club legend Ahmed Garba Yaro-Yaro was assigned to take charge as interim coach.
Despite the management’s plea for him to return just a week into his suspension, Abdallah refused, explaining that he wanted the situation to fully settle before resuming.
“I was asked to return to my duty post just a week after the suspension order, but I said no— let’s wait until the three weeks are completed,” Abdallah told CompleteSports.
“I believe that within that period, the dust raised by the incident would have settled.”
A Pattern of Unsettled Coaching Stints at Kano Pillars
Abdallah also pointed out that he isn’t the first coach to experience such managerial instability at the club, referencing past coaches like Salisu Yusuf, Abdu Maikaba, and Musa Ibrahim, who also faced similar challenges.
“I’ve coached clubs like Katsina United and Enyimba, and I never experienced such behaviour,” he added.
“So, I think it’s best for me to stay out until the management resolves the issues regarding this behaviour towards a coach.”
A Leadership Crisis or a Coaching Struggle?
This situation raises key questions about Kano Pillars’ internal management. While poor results might justify a club’s dissatisfaction with a coach, the frequent hiring, firing, and suspensions of coaches suggest deeper structural problems within the club.
Should Kano Pillars focus more on long-term stability rather than quick fixes? Or is Abdallah simply struggling to meet expectations?
Either way, the club’s future now hangs in the balance, and how this situation is handled could set the tone for the rest of their season.
What’s your take? 💭 Should Abdallah have returned early, or is he right to insist on serving his full suspension? ⚽🔥
