Erik ten Hag Rules Out New Job Until July, Admits Missing Old Trafford
Former Manchester United and Ajax boss, Erik ten Hag, has revealed that he will not be taking any managerial job until July 1.
Ten Hag, who was sacked by Manchester United in October, has remained jobless since, despite links to several clubs across Europe. However, the Dutch tactician has made it clear that he will not jump into a new project mid-season.
“I had already decided for myself, okay, I’m not doing anything until the first of July,” Ten Hag stated in an interview with SEG Stories.
Manchester United’s Struggles Continue Under Ruben Amorim
Since Ten Hag’s departure, things have not improved much for Manchester United. His replacement, Ruben Amorim, has struggled to impose his ideas, with the team languishing in 15th place.
Amorim, who was brought in during the November international break, is facing mounting pressure as the Red Devils continue to underperform. Many fans and analysts are now questioning whether sacking Ten Hag was the right decision.
Ten Hag: "I Miss Old Trafford"
In the interview, Ten Hag admitted that he still misses Old Trafford, reflecting on his time at United.
“If there’s one thing I miss, it’s Old Trafford,” he confessed.
He also spoke about his relentless pursuit of excellence, stating that despite the highs he achieved at United, there was always room for improvement.
“Good is not enough. You can do better.”
Opinion: Was Ten Hag Treated Unfairly?
While Ten Hag’s exit from United seemed inevitable due to inconsistent performances, the club’s current struggles under Amorim suggest that perhaps the Dutch manager was not the real problem.
Many fans argue that United’s issues run deeper, with player recruitment, board decisions, and dressing room discipline all playing a role in the club’s downfall.
With Ten Hag choosing to wait until July before making a return, speculation continues over his next destination. Could he return to Ajax? Try a new challenge in Spain or Germany? Or even wait for a big club to make a managerial switch?
One thing is certain: Ten Hag’s next move will be highly anticipated.
