Vipers SC to Hold Special Prayer for Late Striker Abubakar Lawal

Ugandan football club Vipers SC has announced plans to hold a special prayer session in honor of their late striker, Abubakar Lawal.

The ceremony will take place on Thursday at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, and will be open to the public, allowing fans, teammates, and well-wishers to pay their final respects.

In an official statement, Vipers SC confirmed that Lawal’s family has requested his body to be repatriated to Sokoto State, Nigeria for burial. The club’s president, Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, has pledged to cover all expenses related to the process.

“We are committed to ensuring that Abubakar Lawal is laid to rest in accordance with his family’s wishes. The necessary documentation is being processed for his journey back home,” the statement read.

Mystery Surrounding His Death

Lawal’s passing has left many in shock, with reports stating that the former Kano Pillars player allegedly fell from the third floor of Voice Mall Shopping Arcade on Monday morning. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and the Ugandan police have launched an investigation into the tragedy.

A Loss Beyond Football

At just 25 years old, Abubakar Lawal had a promising career ahead of him. Having played for top clubs in Nigeria and Uganda, his talent and dedication made him a fan favorite. His untimely death is not only a loss for Vipers SC but also for the broader football community.

As the football world mourns, Lawal’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who watched him play. His story is a reminder of how fragile life can be, and the need to cherish every moment.

May his soul rest in peace. 🕊️
